It Never Ends.

Posted on November 21, 2011 by adminNo Comments

The construction and renovation going on at the houses in our street, that is. And all the dust and paint fumes aren’t doing us any good. One neighbor is constructing their house on phases, and I am hoping that what they’re doing now is the last phase as I can’t take any more dust and mess in the street. They are still building a pool on their rooftop and the other day I think I saw a clawfoot tub being delivered to their house. And as if that’s not enough, two more neighbors got inspired and did a little renovation and repainting as well. I’m glad both were just quick projects though and we’re done in about two weeks. For my Christmas wish, I hope the last one will be done with their house the soonest.

Snowshoes.

Posted on November 21, 2011 by adminNo Comments

I was never aware that there exists a running snowshoe. But I am from a tropical country so I am not familiar with any thing snow-related. Anyway, I came across this type of shoe, Crescent Moon Gold 12 Snowshoes in particular, as I was looking for gifts for a good friend abroad. I want to get him something useful hence a pair of shoes. This reminds me that I need to get a pair of running shoes for me as well. I badly need to lose several more stubborn fats.

Baked Banana Oatmeal.

Posted on November 3, 2011 by adminNo Comments

10-23

It’s been a while since I baked so I made baked banana oatmeal last week. I keep on planning to bake some cookies, but it would never push through. I am staying away from too much sweets, DS isn’t fond of sweets either. I guess that’s why I never get to do it. Maybe for Christmas, we can indulge in some sweets. Maybe I can do something with oatmeal and nuts, so it’s a bit healthier, less guilt for me. Aside from looking for nursing scrubs, I plan to get new aprons and kitchen towels, too as I want everything in the house to be a little Christmas-sy. It does make baking/cooking time more fun.

Pa-Healthy Breakfast.

One of those rare days that I included fruits in my meal. I had these early this week. And this reminds me that I need to buy oranges. Or maybe not as we still have some pineapple. Anyway, I am trying to add more fruits into our meals, and I plan to revise our weekly menu as well. I am a trying hard vegetarian, but the other members of the family aren’t. So it will be unfair if I will deprive them of the food they love. Plus I know my son needs variety of food. And so a little bit of meat will be included in our weekly meals, along with veggies and fruits. So aside from looking into Travel Guide Jobs or whatever job that I can do at home, I am likewise searching for new recipes to try.

Breakfast.

Classes were suspended a couple of weeks ago, so after running some errands we had late breakfast at McDonald’s. I used to not like their fried chicken. However, we got to try the chicken again when we attended a party of my son’s classmate in McDo. Is is just me or there’s something new with their chicken? I remembered their chicken being tough and the coating not crunchy. It’s a different story now though. Even DS who used to not like their chicken as he used to have a hard time chewing it, now loves it to bits. I am even thinking of putting up backyard chicken coops just because of his love for chicken. Haha. Seriously though, their chicken is the reason why we are frequenting fast food again. This has to stop! :)

I’m On A Diet.

Posted on October 15, 2011 by adminNo Comments

FB-diet, that is. I can’t remember the last time I updated my FB account. Ever since the twin typhoon, I am no longer able to have a decent access to FB. It will only be accessible, along with some other sites, on the wee hours of the morning. Good thing, Employee Purchase Program Event and some shopping sites are available, thus I am able to shop (or window shop) despite this intermittent connection that we have. I have no idea when it will be restored.

Gift Shopping.

Posted on October 15, 2011 by adminNo Comments

I think I ordered too many toys for DS. And they are not even part of his Christmas gifts yet. It’s because I’m not even sure when those toys will reach the Philippine shores. They aren’t available here so I decided to order most of them. He is a fan of Richard Scarry toys so imagine his delight when I showed him the Richard Scarry toys, his very much loved characters and scenes made into toys. And now he is so looking forward to a big truck stopping by our house to deliver his box of toys. The question is when. I should shop for additional gifts, anniversary gifts for girlfriend and teachers maybe, to make the most of the waiting time.

Productive.

Posted on October 10, 2011 by adminNo Comments

Our internet connection has been so bad the past two (or is it three?) weeks. I can still access some sites so I was able to do a little browsing. However, most of the sites that I frequent, for some reason, are not accessible. So it’s like I am without connection as well. But it’s still good anyway, as I am able to finish several scrapbooking layouts. Thank goodness Flickr is accessible and I already have some of my layouts uploaded. I am yet to make them public though. I want to make a draft post of the layouts first on my scrap blog before making them public so I won’t forget.

Snacks.

This is my usual snack lately. Sandwich loaded with fresh veggies, chips and sometimes with a little Coke on the side. I am loving fresh, crisp veggies right now. If we haven’t been gone to Sonya’s a few weeks back, I would surely go there right now. Anyway, since I can’t stock up on too much veggies in the fridge, I need to go to the grocery every few days. And as expected, I get to shop more than what I intend to. I came across a gps handheld garmin watch and I thought it would make a really nice Christmas gift. And speaking of, I can’t believe it’s just a hundred days before Christmas. And the countdown begins.

Tuna Sandwich.

Posted on September 13, 2011 by adminNo Comments

This is my tuna sandwich. More of a veggie sandwich with tuna actually. And believe it or not, I am craving for this again as I write. I am loving fresh veggies right now. {How I wish I have a big lot where I can grow some veggies and herbs. And maybe have a basketball court, pool and a garage similar to those steel buildings I saw in a magazine.}

Anyway, I love eating this for breakfast especially. I feel so full yet I feel light and more energized. Absolutely not that feeling of fullness when you want to lie down and sleep. Before I would buy the fresh veggies and then I would wash and cut them. Then I thought of just buying the packed salad veggies. It saves me time from washing and chopping as those are triple-washed already. Oh yes, when the OC in me strikes, I wash them still. Anyway, the other day I tried the sandwich with bottled milkfish. Maybe next time I will try the bottled sardines and tuyo for variety.
