My Tree.

I can only share one for now. I am still adding watermark to the rest of the pictures and editing a little. Does it look messy? I am also bothered by the blue ornament on the right. I thought it looked nice when I saw it on the mall, but then I realized that I don’t have blue ornaments so it was sticking out like a sore thumb. Anyway, I am nevertheless happy with my tree so I will just leave it as is. As there are still things I need to be busy with like the search for nice pet supplements for a pet-lover friend of mine.

Here’s my tree. This is still unfinished, though.

I don’t know but I think this looks disorganized compared to last year when I only hang balls and some ribbons.

The Ornaments.

Posted on November 17, 2008 by adminNo Comments

I bought some ornaments for our tree in addition to the Christmas balls from last year. I didn’t spend much though. I think I just spent around 1,500 pesos for the additional trimmings I got. I tried to look for the cheapest ones. I finished hanging all the ornaments this afternoon. I have yet to upload pictures though. I’ll just share a few pictures of my DS putting Christmas balls on the tree.

Deck The Halls.

Posted on November 13, 2008 by admin1 Comment

Our big tree is already up. We put it up a few days ago. And it was only now that I was able to download the pictures. Oh yes, I took pictures when it was put up. I try to do that every year. The lights and a few ornaments were hung as well. Our living room is more or less set for the holidays. How I wish we can purchase new contemporary furniture, too.

Anyway, here is DS posing in front of the bare tree.

And here he is hanging Christmas balls. We had to give him 4 balls to hang as he kept asking for balls the moment he saw the tree. He enjoys hanging the ornaments. Even at the mall, he does hang the ornaments on the Christmas trees on display.

The Daybed.

Posted on September 19, 2008 by admin2 Comments

my daybed.

After two weeks of waiting (the maker promised one week), the daybed arrived. I was a bit worried of the design as we just had a sketch of what we like. I would have wanted to just buy whatever’s available in the store but I wasn’t able to find a design I like at a price that fits my budget. Anyway, this came a few nights ago and has been the little boy’s play area ever since. I do like it. It’s made of acacia, and it is so heavy. However, I must say that it isn’t as neat and perfect as I would like it to be. But considering the amount we paid, this is a good deal.

Power of Plants.

Posted on August 22, 2008 by admin7 Comments

I was inspired by Mich to place some plants inside the house so I did a little reading about the benefits of having them in the house.

Plants can positively help your health and energy levels. And research has shown that certain species of plant can actually remove pollutants from the air. And this is according to the book The Five-Minute Healer. Not only do the plants brighten the place, it can likewise enhance your life.

The book lists the following as superplants.
~ Golden pothos {Epipremnum aureum}
~ Spider plant {Chlorophytum comosum ‘Vittatum’}
~ Heartleaf philodendron {Philodendron scandens}
~ Monstrosus cactus {Cereus peruvianus}
~ Mother-in-law’s tounge {Sanseveria trifasciata}
~ Peace lily {Spathiphyllum wallisii}
~ Goosefoot plant {Syngonium podophyllum}

Needless to say, we brought some plants inside.

These are placed on top of the piano and if I’m not mistaken these are called the mother-in-law’s tounge.

These are placed in the kitchen. I bought two more plants to join these two little ones but we haven’t transferred them in vases yet.

We have three of these placed in the corners.

And this one is placed outside, by the door.

My Tiny Work Area.

What I see during my PC time.
This is what I see during my PC time. From left, my hard disk on a case {Because a case is so much cheaper than an external HD.}, my lovely pink laptop with its matching mouse and the little boy’s plastic coin bank. My PC time is usually at night when the little boy is asleep. Sometimes though, I get to sneak in a few minutes during the day.

My table is just an ordinary computer table I bought when I was still single. My table is quite old. We just glued some printed paper we got from Ace Hardware. The table has wheels so I can drag it anywhere in the house. But I usually stay in the small room beside our bedroom.
My table.

What’s on top?
What's on top?
The W@W calendar. My small planner where I scribble impt info, a small notebook where I jot down the little boy’s milestones and a little book on babies. Scratch papers. The notepad from Benz and the Starbucks planner which I rarely use. :(

What’s down there?
What's down there?
Besides the cluster of cable, which I hate very much, I have CD case containing backup of my pics, D80 manual, my fave mag ~ Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion and the little boy’s baby book.

Declutter.

Posted on March 4, 2008 by admin1 Comment

I was reading the latest post on Zen Habits {This is a nice read, btw.} about the tips and tricks to improve one’s finances. I must say that the list is truly helpful. We are actually doing (or trying to do) a few of the tips mentioned in the article.

Right now, I am concentrating on #14 which is declutter. I have been slowly (it’s been months, actully) getting rid of our excess things. Even if it’s a good stuff but if it hasn’t been used in a while, I get rid of it. I give them away to people who are so willing to put them to good use. I really want to lessen our clutter and keep only stuff that we need. Just like what is said on the article, it’s simpler and more peaceful that way. Not to mention, cleaning up is so much easier. And it’s true, I think several times before purchasing another stuff as I don’t want to clutter things up again.

Here’s a glimpse of my gown, which has been sitting in the sofa for the longest time, before I put it away. After all the cleaning up, I finally found a space for it.

Next stop, our closet.
