Oldies But Goodies.

Sharing some of my older food photos. I swear these are making me hungry. It’s been a while since I posted nicer food photos in here. I hope I find the time to edit some of my newer photos to make them worthy of posting. I tell you, these are making me inspired to take better photos again.

Blast from the Past.

Since friends were posting old photos to Facebook, I decided to do the same, too. My scanner is broken though so I just posted the photos that we used for our on-site wedding AVP.

Cyma.

Posted on July 8, 2010 by adminNo Comments

My flavor of the month. Ever since I tried this, we have been to the resto several times already. You bet I am in dire need of the most effective diet pill from too much eating out. But I think my craving for their food is slowly fading away. Thank God as my monthly budget usually gets ruined because of too much eating out.

Anyway, here’s my current favorite salad. A second favorite, as my vote still goes to Sonya’s.
cyma.
Roka Salata. fresh arugula, chopped romaine lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes, candied walnuts with shaved parmesan in traditional greek vinaigrette.

Cyma.
Spinach and Artichoke Fondue. With the blend of melting cheese, sliced sun-dried tomatoes and Feta. Served with warm pita triangles and grilled garlic bread.

cyma.
Yemistes. rice-stuffed peppers and tomatoes.

cyma.
Kotopoulo Lemonato. greek chicken adobo.

cyma.
Baklava. layered phyllo with walnuts and orange honey syrup.

We were able to try paidakia, as well. It’s chang-grilled lamb ribs, served with your choice of riced stuffed peppers or Greek roasted potatoes. It is said to be the most popular from their menu, but we didn’t like eat. I told you, I am not a fan of meat. I was able to try their new leonides pasta. The veggies in the pasta are yummy, but I didn’t like the pasta as a whole. Too much sauce and too oily for me. But of course, I am no food critic. I just like to eat. ;)

Anyway, we don’t normally order this much. Roka salata and spinach and artichoke fondue are more than enough. And oh don’t forget their home-brewed iced tea and fresh lemonade. Yum!

Disappointed With Chili’s.

Posted on July 6, 2010 by adminNo Comments

I think it will be a very long while before we visit Chili’s in Greenbelt again. We were terribly disappointed when we ate there last weekend. You know how much I was craving for their blackened fish fillet and I was hoping that craving would be satisfied that weekend. Boy, I was wrong. First off, our order took awhile to be served when normally their service was fast. My fish wasn’t thoroughly cooked. I can still taste the “lansa” of the fish. So we had it returned. I was half-hoping that they would give me a new, freshly-cooked fish. But surprise, surprise, they just re-cooked my fish and now it was overcooked and tasted very bitter. And it was very dry already. Tsk. tsk. Then came my our fave Texas chili fries, with very little cheese and chili, whereas before its chili and cheese would be overflowing. A very big disappointment indeed.

At Chili’s.

Posted on June 24, 2010 by adminNo Comments

blackened fish fillet.

Aside from roka salata from Cyma, this is my current favorite. This is blackened fish fillet from Chili’s, fish fillet with tons of pepper served with rice and beans. I am so craving for this, I think we might drop by Chili’s again tomorrow just to satisfy my cravings. I have tons of work, like helping out a relative search for a Mesothelioma lawyer among other things. But that might have to wait as I really, really want a serving of this as soon as possible.

And of course, our meal at Chili’s wouldn’t be complete without their Texas cheese fries with chili. Good luck to my ever growing waist line. ;)

Kanin Club.

Posted on May 28, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Our eating out is getting a little frequent. These were taken at Kanin Club, our current favorite restaurant. The prices are reasonable and it’s Pinoy. You can never go wrong with Pinoy food. So after shopping for custom cardboard boxes for my decluttering and organization needs, we again had our lunch at Kanin Club. We would have sinangag na sinigang and a veggie dish usually. This time we tried ordering something different, and so I had to take some pics.

We had seafood kare-kare which is truly yummy. And I need my veggies, so there’s pinakbet with crispy liempo on top.

The Old Spaghetti House.

Posted on May 28, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Taken a few weeks back at TOSH. This was were I discovered and liked gourmet tuyo pasta. This time though, we ordered pasta puttanesca, something familiar for the little boy so he’ll have something to eat. We had ratatouille pizza and I was disappointed with it. I thought that since this was a veggie pizza, there would be so much veggies in there. But much to my surprise and disappointment, there were only very few tiny, little pieces of veggies in there.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

On Mother’s Day. Before heading home, we stopped at Coffee Bean for coffee. The coffee was for DH as I am not so much a coffee drinker. He isn’t also but he needed some caffeine to keep him awake while driving home. The banana cake slice is mine.

Moving Up Day Lunch at Burgoo.

Posted on April 27, 2010 by adminNo Comments

As a treat to the little graduate, we went to the mall after his Moving Up Day. We went to Powerplant primarily because I want to check out Philux as I was looking for a bed then. {I did see a bed that was within my budget. Good thing I didn’t buy it though as SM has their home world sale a few weeks after that and I was able to get my bed from there at a much, much cheaper price.}

Anyway, we had our late lunch at Burgoo and their big paper placemat was enough to keep the boy occupied while we wait for the food. I, on the other hand, browsed for business insurance quotes while waiting. We had pasta and pizza. No surprise here. We had pasta pomodoro and a 4 flavors-in-1 pizza.
ano nga ba to?4 flavors in 1 pizza.

As requested, the graduate had his vanilla ice cream fix. So like me, I did prefer vanilla over any other flavors of ice cream when I was younger.
