Lazy.

Posted on May 31, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Suddenly I am all too lazy to post our photos from our lunch in Chili’s and Cyma. I know, we have been eating out too frequently lately that I think I am in need of appetite suppressants. Anyway, maybe tomorrow I will have the energy to create a more decent post. I have been sleeping less at some nights, I am starting to think that I am having insomnia. Either that or I probably have a lot of things on my mind.

Breathe In.

Posted on May 28, 2010 by adminNo Comments

I seriously am considering getting a dehumidifier for the house. Asthma and allergies never seem to leave us. And the weather, despite the rains, isn’t helping either. This will be on top of my list once I have the budget. It would have been bearable if it’s only me suffering, but we have an asthmatic little boy in the house. That’s why I am not spending on anything that we do not need as I have some projects lined up for our little home. Time to give our little crib some pampering.

Finally, I was able to try this tomato and eggs brunch recipe and I loved it.

Doesn’t look so appetizing in my messy pan but this is good. And it’s healthy, too.

And this is how it looked on top of a toasted wheat bread.

Kanin Club.

Posted on May 28, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Our eating out is getting a little frequent. These were taken at Kanin Club, our current favorite restaurant. The prices are reasonable and it’s Pinoy. You can never go wrong with Pinoy food. So after shopping for custom cardboard boxes for my decluttering and organization needs, we again had our lunch at Kanin Club. We would have sinangag na sinigang and a veggie dish usually. This time we tried ordering something different, and so I had to take some pics.

We had seafood kare-kare which is truly yummy. And I need my veggies, so there’s pinakbet with crispy liempo on top.

The Old Spaghetti House.

Posted on May 28, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Taken a few weeks back at TOSH. This was were I discovered and liked gourmet tuyo pasta. This time though, we ordered pasta puttanesca, something familiar for the little boy so he’ll have something to eat. We had ratatouille pizza and I was disappointed with it. I thought that since this was a veggie pizza, there would be so much veggies in there. But much to my surprise and disappointment, there were only very few tiny, little pieces of veggies in there.

Chocolate Microwave Mug Cake.

Just when I am trying to stay away from all things sweet, I came across this yummy recipe. I have been craving {and am able to satisfy those cravings} for a moist chocolate cake these past weeks, and I don’t know if I can resist this. Please let me have the self control to not make this one. If my self control fails me, then I am off to www.weightlossproduct.org for help.

Anyway, here’s the recipe for the mug cake.

You’ll need:
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2-3 tablespoons sugar (according to desired sweetness)
1 tablespoon flour
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil, such as canola
3 tablespoons egg white or plain Egg Whites in a carton
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
optional:
1 teaspoon chocolate chips

*As a variation, substitute almond extract for the vanilla.
Also, you can change the chocolate chips to any flavor chips you’d like.

Steps:
In a 1-1 1/2 cup microwave safe mug, blend cocoa, sugar, and flour together.

Add milk, oil, egg white and vanilla. Stir vigorously for 2 minutes, (or until you’ve sung Happy Birthday 6 times!) making sure to get all ingredients incorporated.

Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, if desired.

Bake in microwave for 2 minutes. Check to make sure it is cooked on the bottom by lifting it a little with a spoon. If it is runny, cook 10 seconds more at a time until done. Do not overcook, as it will be rubbery. It puffs up and may overflow, but that is OK, it deflates somewhat as it cools.

You want the texture to be moist and slightly undercooked. Let cool until just warm and serve with whipped cream squirted fresh from the can.

The Truth About.

Posted on May 27, 2010 by adminNo Comments

Sigh, I have been eating quite a lot of sweets lately. First the chocolate cake, then there’s Becky’s super yummy brownies that I couldn’t seem to stop munching on. Then I still have a few pieces of Becky’s raisin walnut oats cookies. But these cookies aren’t so bad, are they? Anyway, I better stop buying these sweets as they aren’t helping me in any way. It would have been ok if I was walking on the treadmill, but I had to stop for a while due to asthma.

How can I then lose all these extra pounds that I have? Have you heard of irvingia gabonensis? It is a West African wild mango tree and studies showed that it can help in weight loss and at the same time help in lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. It does look very promising, doesn’t it? I think this one’s worth a try.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

On Mother’s Day. Before heading home, we stopped at Coffee Bean for coffee. The coffee was for DH as I am not so much a coffee drinker. He isn’t also but he needed some caffeine to keep him awake while driving home. The banana cake slice is mine.
