A friend is looking for a very classy but affordable cubic zirconium jewelry online. I suggested her browsing Holsted Jewelers. They have precious stones from Amethyst, Blue Topaz, Emerald, Ruby and Even Diamonds, and of course the one that she’s interested about, Cubic Zirconia and it’s in white and colored. I actually prefer the colored ones, since it gives more character to the jewelry and to the person who will be wearing it. She’s planning to buy a ring for a very important event that she will be hosting and she wants something simple, classy and affordable, 3 adjectives which are impossible to be in one sentence? Of course not, with Holsted Jewelers, everything is possible. Here are some of the rings I suggested to her…

I am sharing this yummy pasta recipe that I am hoping to serve my boys real soon.

Ingredients:
* 12 ounces short pasta (such as gemelli or penne; about 4 cups)
* 1/4 cup olive oil
* 2 red bell peppers, thinly sliced
* 2 cloves garlic, chopped
* 2 bunches arugula, thick stems removed (about 6 cups)
* 12 ounces bocconcini (small balls of fresh mozzarella), cut in half, or fresh mozzarella, cut into bite-size pieces
* kosher salt and pepper
Procedure:
* Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water, drain the pasta, and set aside. Wipe out the pot.
* Heat the oil in the pasta pot over medium heat. Add the bell peppers and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the peppers are tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
* Add the arugula, bocconcini, the cooked pasta, the reserved pasta water, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cook, stirring, until the arugula is just wilted, about 1 minute.
Try it, too!

I am dreaming of a kitchen. We did some minor renovations in the house a few months back but unfortunately, nothing much were done in the kitchen. Aside from the house getting all messy and dusty, it will need a lot of money to do so. So we said that we’ll just save the money for later, when we are building our dream house. It’s going to take a few more years.

I still do not have an oven up to now. DH has given me the go-signal to buy one but I kept putting it off. I really want to think about it and make sure that I’ll use it as I do not want to put our money to waste. Lately I have been running out of ideas on food to cook for the family and I realized that I do need an oven just so I can prepare more variety. I will get one once we are done will all our payables.

We caught Giada’s Weekend Getaway on TV, a show in the Lifestyle Network, a few weeks ago. They were featuring Mexico at that time and we got to see the beautiful beaches and the yummy food they have there. Definitely, it is a place that we will visit in the future. I would love to experience a romantic vacation riviera maya. I know there are lots of good resorts there, but I think I like the Azul Beach Hotel. It’s mainly because of its many family-friendly amenities as we have a kid in tow. It is truly kid-friendly since they offer cribs, milk heaters, medicines, coloring books, games and even kid-sized bathrooms. Parents are sure to enjoy the vacation since they never need to worry about anything. This is a vacation anyone will look forward to.

A slice of mango bravo from Conti’s. We have been frequenting the new Conti’s restaurant in Nuvali Sta. Rosa. I am currently loving their mango bravo, we have been planning to have our merienda there and order the whole cake. But I doubt if that is happening anytime soon as we are cutting down on our food intake, especially the not-so-healthy ones.

1. TheSaladCaper’s question. Give me one weird food combination which has always been your comfort food. Anything fried with vinegar as my condiment.
2. Name a food that begins with B. Banana.
3. Name a drink that begins with B. Bottled water?
4. Share a recipe for something that calls for broccoli. I love beef with broccoli. I’m not sure exactly how they prepare the beef but I’m assuming the broccoli was steamed.
