Go Now, and Live.

Posted on January 31, 2009 by adminNo Comments

Go now, and live.
Experience. Dream. Risk. Close your eyes and jump. Enjoy the freefall. Choose exhilaration over comfort. Choose magic over predictability. Choose potential over safety. Wake up to the magic of everyday life. Make friends with your intuition. Trust your gut. Discover the beauty of uncertainty. Know yourself fully before you make promises to another. Make millions of mistakes so that you will know how to choose what you really need. Know when to hold on and when to let go. Love hard and often and without reservation. Seek knowledge. Open yourself to possibility. Keep your heart open, your head high and your spirit free. Embrace your darkness along with your light. Be wrong every once in a while, and don’t be afraid to admit it. Awaken to the brilliance in ordinary moments. Tell the truth about yourself no matter what the cost. Own your reality without apology. See goodness in the world. Be Bold. Be Fierce. Be Grateful. Be Wild, Crazy and Gloriously Free. Be You.

Go now, and live.

Note To Self.

Posted on January 13, 2009 by adminNo Comments

Do Less planning and worrying and future thinking. Spend more time in the moment. We worry too much, and it does us no good. We think about things that haven’t happened, instead of what’s happening now. And while some planning is necessary, too much of it is a waste of time — there’s no way to predict the future, and trying to control every little thing that’s going to happen is futile. Learn to go with the flow, look for opportunities, find the natural path of things, and do what is needed in the moment. You can’t control outcomes, but if you learn to work more fluidly (instead of rigidly following plans), you can get to outcomes that are good.

“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” – Lao Tzu

Do The Next Right Thing.

Posted on January 2, 2009 by adminNo Comments

“I TOOK A LONG, DEEP BREATH AND WONDERED AS USUAL, WHERE TO START. YOU START WHERE YOU ARE, IS THE SECRET OF LIFE. YOU DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING YOU CAN SEE. THEN THE NEXT.”
-Anne Lamott

You know what the next right thing is. Will you get up or sleep in? Will you say that nice compliment you thought or will you let the opportunity pass? Will you look your kids in the eye when they talk to you or will you multitask to “get things done.” Will you eat that donut or the fruit? Will you buy that shirt you don’t need and that doesn’t fit in your closet or will you put it back? Will you put people first or work first?

And if you don’t know what your next right thing is? Choose out of spirit – choices based on love and truth. Choose from how you want to live and who you want to be. Get beyond the lies and rationalizations you tell yourself. Most of the time if you listen, you do know what the next right thing is.

Who do you want to be this year, no matter what happens? How can you strengthen yourself so you are up for whatever life brings? What is the next right thing for you to do?

Something to help us start the year right, snagged from My Simpler Life.

Cheers!

“Here’s to the bright New Year, and a fond farewell to the old; here’s to the things that are yet to come, and to the memories that we hold.”

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”
~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce

“Ring out the old, ring in the new, Ring, happy bells, across the snow: The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true”
~ Alfred, Lord Tennyson

“Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.”
~ Oprah Winfrey
